Here are 5 concepts for the Sylar. I hope you like them and that there is something usable among the 5. If needed, I can proved larger versions of any of the images.

At this point I need to address several other project, but once I am done with those I will be able to return and complete my Blith concepts.

These are quite incredible Chris, thank you :o. I like the claws from A, the most; the claws seem most usable with delicate functions, like holding things. The body of C is my most favorite of the choices :). There's also a chance we could use multiple choices that spawn randomly when a unit is created. So in that sense, my favorites are [in order] C, D, and A. The claws from B look the most devastating and so I'm thinking of them being applied randomly as if some Sylars are born with the fighting 'advantage' of stronger or more-nasty claws.

Amazing! :)

I like the head of D the best, followed closely by C. Agreed on the body of C.

Giggle has the final say, though, of course :)

Good luck on your other projects :)

Sorry for not responding to this earlier... my work loads ebbs and flows and right now I am rather swamped.

I will try to answer your questions and explain my process in full when I have the time. I will most likely write up something for my blog (so I can post plenty of images and such) and post a link here ... and hopefully it will be helpful.

its a drawing so technically its only 2D though it does look realistic enough I can see how you were confused.

Ok, it just has as much '3D-illusion' to me, as a motionless 2D can have. I'll move it to the 2D section :).

Hello all,

I promised awhile back that I would do a write up on how I created my Sylar designs... well, better late then never! Here is a link to my blog where I posted a write up with images: http://christopherburdett.blogspot.com/2009/03/creature-concepts-greyscale-photodhop.html

Feel free to follow up with any questions, I will try to address them in a timely manor.

I hopefully we be back here soon with more concepts. Work has had me slammed.

Very cool. Thanks for writing this up :) As a non-artist, I have to say, this helps me understand the design process a lot more....I had no idea so much of this kind of work is done in photoshop!

I love the new stuff you've posted on your website as well, especially "Arise" :)

From my previous statement: the final concept for this includes the body of C and the hands of A.
